Fedder Properties

Overview

The Fedder Company has been active in the Baltimore real estate market for more than thirty years. Its principals have built, developed or acquired more than $200 million worth of income-producing property such as regional and neighborhood shopping centers, office buildings, industrial and self-storage facilities, and apartments.

Fedder Management Corporation, an affiliate of The Fedder Company, currently manages more than 1.8 million square feet of commercial property in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania including Baltimore City, Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, Woodbridge, Va., and York, Pa. Additionally, Fedder developed the first Planned Unit Development in Carroll County. The pre-development phases of this 300-acre project began in the mid 1970's. By 1980, the Fedder Company was selling finished lots to homebuilders. Through another affiliate, the company built and sold over 250 single-family dwellings during a 4-year period. The Fedder Company was also involved with the development of twin 30,000-square foot office buildings in Anne Arundel County, both of which were built, leased and sold between 1984 and 1986. In the 1980's, the Company developed, renovated, and resold five office buildings in Frederick and Hagerstown, Maryland.

Beginning in 1998, the Company embarked on an aggressive acquisition and development plan with the acquisition/development/redevelopment of community shopping centers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Through The Fedder Company's network of institutional and private investors, this program will continue as the Company identifies well-located community-oriented shopping centers in the region.
